Resources on 2 Peter

One of the major lessons of 2 Peter is that our world is temporary; but there is an eternal kingdom and all true progress is of eternal consequence. However, in the last days there will be scoffers who will mock any idea of a second coming. In view of this, Peter asks his readers what kind of people they ought to be. He urges them to make every effort to be spotless and not to be carried away by the lawlessness of the age, and thereby fall from their secure position. He wants them to grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. The message of 2 Peter, therefore, is for us also.
