Resources on Micah

The prophet Micah had a very respectable name: Micayahu, meaning, ‘Who is like Jehovah?’ Such an idea was central to the faith of Israel—there was no other God. It was through this prophet that the people learned about the incomparable forgiveness of their God. As a bold and vivid poet with command of the best of metaphors, Micah seeks to provide an adequate description of that forgiveness. Through the sacrifice of Calvary, we, like Micah, have learned that God has taken our sins and put them forever beyond his remembrance and beyond recovery.
