Dr Gooding addresses four major topics in this series: syncretism, pluralism, postmodernism and hedonism. He treats each one fairly but directly, pointing out the challenges that each pose to the thinking and practice of Christians and non–Christians alike and showing how the Bible answers both their main points and the assumptions they are built upon. The talks are accessible for readers who are new to the topics, but they will provide insights for those who know the topics well. The talks are complemented by a detailed set of notes that were given out as a handout at the time of the original series.
